The cycle is man’s childhood friend, because as the age increases the interest for cycle gets shifted. There is need of cycle shelter for its protection and safety, which it deserves being old friend. The cycle shelter is ideal for protection of cycles from wind, sunlight and rains. The cycle era is reverting back with rising fuel costs, environmental problems created by gaseous emissions of vehicles and taxation imposed to contain vehicular menace.

Following the modern trends the cycle shelter has also witnessed innovations in cycle shelter design, which depends on where the cycle shelter is to be installed and number of cycles to be accommodated in the cycle shelter. The number of cycles to be kept varies from place to place like in a school premises, office location, public parks and other public places so that cycles are kept in a disciplined way, which in the absence of cycle shelter are kept haphazardly near the entry gate. Thus spoiling the looks of the place and causing obstruction to free passage.

The vast variety of cycle shelters are having different styles and cycle protection functions and the budget for cycle shelter design also varies depending upon the kind of materials used, size of the shelter, whether it is covered only at the top or it provides covering of about 2 feet all around the top front, top back and top sides, so that effect of slanting rain fall gets obstructed. The floor of the cycle shelter gets protected from falling tree leaves collection.

The durability of the cycle shelter depends on the materials used for its erection. While installing the cycle shelter the vertical pipes supporting it are to be firmly fixed to the ground with the help of strong foot structure surrounded by concrete embedded in the ground around 2 feet deep, so that it can bear the strong winds and does not get uprooted.

The covering material at the top and the sides is also fixed firmly with bolts with skeleton fabrication in the top area. Entire cycle shelter needs painting annually so that it looks elegant and is rust protected.
